Socrates and Transgender Athletes

The Left's Dialogue with Socrates
(If you've never read Socratic dialogues, they go like this.)



The Left:  Trans People are oppressed because they don't fit into male or female athletics.  If a trans person identifies as female, then zhe should be accepted into female athletics.

Socrates:  Many women have dedicated their lives to sports.  It is well known that they haven't achieved the same feats as men in strength and speed.  Wouldn't this be unfair to them to include former men in their competitions?

The Left:  Women are just as strong as men, they are just brainwashed by society into not training as hard.

Socrates:  Isn't that disrespectful to all of these hardworking female athletes?

The Left:  No, because the brainwashing is so effective.

Socrates:  Is it accidental?

The Left:  No.  It's a rich capitalist white male dominated society.  That's who dominates our world.

Socrates:  Do you have any evidence that this brainwashing exists?

The Left:  Any story in history or the news also includes a meta-narrative.  These meta-narratives, when linked together, form a larger story that brainwashes women into not exercising as hard.

Socrates:  Have you escaped the spell of the brainwashing?

The Left:  Yes.

Socrates:  Could some of them have escaped the brainwashing in the way that you have?

The Left:  Yes.

Socrates:  Given the many female athletes over the years, is it likely or unlikely that some of them have escaped the brainwashing as you did?

The Left:  It is likely.

Socrates:  If it is likely that they have escaped it, but it is also known that they haven't achieved the same feats of strength and speed, then is it likely that your belief in brainwashing is true?

The Left:  It is unlikely to be true.

Socrates:  Then do you have any evidence that women are as strong as men?

The Left:  No.

Socrates:  Then would men who transition to female have an unfair advantage in female sports?

The Left:  Yes

Brief refutation of the Flavian Hypothesis

  Under the Flavian Conspiracy theory, Christianity was invented by the Flavian emperors (Vespasian, Titus, & Domitian 69 - 96 AD).  They supposedly did this as a way to control people by inventing a false religion. Emperors are well known for creating religious movements as a way of controlling people, but  this was primarily a matter of declaring an emperor to be a god. For example, Domitian had Titus declared a god. But this worked within paganism.  Augustus was said to be secretly fathered by Apollo while his mother was at the temple.  The imperial cult boasted temples across the empire.  Cities without a statue of Augustus were rare.   A primary problem with the Flavian Conspiracy is that Christianity is subversive of Roman morality.  While it is not openly rebellious, it is harmful to Roman values in other ways.  Christians would not make sacrifices to pagan gods or praise the genius (divine right to rule) of the emperor.  T...

Should hypocritical ministers be called out?

  In past years, I've heard some say that hypocritical and even disbelieving ministers should not be criticized since they carry on a public ministry that preaches the correct thing. These preachers do this to avoid scrutiny while gathering a small group of disbelievers, but play the role of a godly minister on a larger scale. What is truly amazing is that they cite the Apostle Paul in support! They refer to Philippians 1:15-18. Here, Paul rejoices that people are coming to salvation through some jealous preachers that really just want to end Paul’s ministry. And so people told me that we should just keep our mouths shut since the good outweighs the bad. In fact, we should just rejoice that people are being saved like Paul did!
